I think I'm in love with this man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoGYx35ypus
It won't let me embed it, I apologize but it won't hurt you to click. It's worth it I promise.
So is this:
My cousin gave up Facebook for Lent. My mom is giving up internet Boggle. I'm giving up just being on the computer at home for anything other than necessities. Family & friends are more important. Call them on the phone, go visit them. Life is more than instant gratification. Just wait, it's worth it.

Coming soon to a blog near you....
Wow, I have been neglectful. Sorry to my few dedicated readers. It's not time, I don't think I'm any more busy, just lazier. I'm doing better here than my poor baking blog which hasn't been updated since October.
This weekend we discovered that Mia & Layla can handle Wii bowling. I have video and will post it tomorrow. Layla's form consists of a feeble attempt at "throwing" the ball and then yelling "GO BALL GO BALL GO BALL" as it rolls down the lane. It's hilarious, I promise. I also have plans to include a weekly Layla photo post but since her camera is still in the box and sans batteries, that will have to wait a bit. But when it happens, it will be awesome. What could be better than a 3 yr old's view of the world?
To keep you occupied until I get my stuff together, visit this site my sister sent to me. It is one of the greatest gifts the internet has offered since the Lolcats.

In Your Face!
Things to do with your face:
Face Your Manga - I have no idea what that means but it's cute nonetheless
Vintage Yearbook - Be one of those people you always made fun of
Hairstyles - Before you spend money on a haircut that looked much better on Jennifer Anniston in 1994

Why we should all start swimming
File under So Not Fair
Phelps' 12,000 Calorie Diet
What he eats in a day could feed my entire family of four for 2 days! Actually, I just read it again, it would feed my family for a good three days. Easy. And I'd probably have leftovers for lunch on day 4.
Meanwhile at the Hall of Justice......
I've finally started regularly posting on my baking blog A Lovely Baker. Today I have my all time favorite cupcakes posted and have joined the Blog Roll of Tuesdays With Dorie so will be posting at least every Tuesday with new concoctions of all shapes and sizes! Enjoy!

Almost Famous
http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/gwinnett/stories/2008/08/11/firstday_0812.html
This is the article featuring our journey to Mia's first day of Kindergarten. They followed her for hours and all we get is a photo giving me about 10 chins. Thanks guys. It's a great article and really highlights her personality, which was on level 11 yesterday morning.
UPDATE: Upon further investigation, I found a gallery of photos from our morning. Please ignore me and focus on the adorable girls.
http://projects.ajc.com/gallery/view/metro/schools/gwinnett-back-school/
When I picked her up yesterday I told her she could go wherever she wanted and do whatever she wanted - get ice cream, go shopping. Anything. Her choice? Grandma's house so she could share her day with her friends from her old school. We stopped at Dunkin Donuts on the way for a celebratory chocolate milk and donut with sprinkles. So the first day of Kindergarten in a new school? Success!

Fun finds
If you have not logged on to see the great finds at Etsy, do it today! Everything is handmade and most of it is super cute and/or super trendy! Here's a few of my favorite things I've seen so far:
Letters I bought one for every member of my family and am hanging them in my hallway dispersed among all the photos I have there already.

Monkey Hat This reminds me so much of the Mickey Mouse costume I wore when I was 2 and my cousin Steve & I dressed alike for Halloween. I'm just hoping one of my friends gets pregnant soon so I have an excuse to buy this adorable head piece!
Apron Maybe it's because of all the baking I've been doing lately but I just love the idea of a full apron. If I had one, I might not have scalded my stomach with boiling caramel last night. Oh yeah, Dad called me "Grace" as a child for a reason.Thursday, July 17, 2008

Be prepared to witness the most beautiful and bad a** screen saver ever. Found this little jem on Kirtsy . You're welcome.
Dropclock
This almost makes me want my computer desk back in the living room. Almost.

Literary craziness
My friend Jill sells used books. She gets some jewels and she gets some duds, and then she gets some that are so insane she is at a loss for words. Her girlfriend told her to create a blog about them and thank God she has and I now have a whole other way to waste time at work. Keep 'em coming Jilly Bean!
They Actually Print This Stuff
Family note: check out the author, I hope he or she is not a relation of ours.

Happiness for everyone!
So last week I posted a list of things that make me happy. I have to add Frezned to that list. Frezned is the internet persona of a boy named Tom. Tom is from Australia so to hear him read the newspaper is lovely. This is his most recent post and I thought of all of you, my known and unknown readers, when I watched it. I hope it brings you as much joy as it does me. And Tom, if you ever read this, my sister Erin is 20 years old, gorgeous, and is a fan of yours as well. I would love for you to marry her so I can have the most adorable brother-in-law a person can ask for.

It got me
Several months ago a friend introduced me to Twitter. I thought it was the stupidest thing I had ever seen. Several days ago, I was re-introduced to Twitter and thought, "I don't have time for this nonsense" Then it got under my skin. Every little note-worthy thing that happened when I was by myself and unable to share it made me think, "If I was on Twitter, I could just send it" Damn you internet for giving me another excuse to waste my own time and send meaningless thoughts into the void.

Walking for T-Mar!
In October I will be participating in the 2 Day Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. I am very excited about this journey because it will be in memory of my Aunt Tricia. Whether you know me personally or just came across this sit by chance, please consider giving to this more than worthy cause. You can view my page here to donate.
She was such an amazing woman. A woman we should all aspire to emulate. She was a SuperMom and she is greatly missed. Now and always.

Good Baby
Mom got Baby Be of Use books for us for Easter. They give the appearance of infant board books so at first I was like, thanks for giving me something for me mom. But it turns out, these books are satirical gold! This is my favorite page:

You Might Be a White Person if.....
My mom found this site a couple weeks ago and I've never seen a better representation of my mother other than, well, herself in person. Really it should be titled "Stuff Elitists Like". If you would like to delve into the inner psyche of my mother, check out these specific posts which I feel really, truly exemplify her.
Bottled Water
New York Times
Indie Music
Not Watching TV
I'm not sure if they interviewed her for these pieces or just heard tale of the legendary woman who laughs in the face of the mainstream genre.
I love you mom!

It's Wedgie-Free Wednesday!
Seriously, I did not make that up - oh that I did, I'd be a rich woman. This is an honest-to-God promotion. It's just about the goofiest thing I've ever seen and I kind of love it.
http://wedgiefree.com/
I'm afraid they kind of look like granny panties (after further investigating, it was just poor illustrating, although my friend Nikki did comment "could them make them sexier?") I'm sure they're very comfortable though. I would hope Sarah Chalke would promote nothing less. Plus she's totally adorable in the video, don't you agree?
